Jim Ricker: 2019 Teacher of the Year

At the American Bridge Teachers’ convention in Las Vegas Jim Ricker was named the 2019 ABTA Teacher of the Year.

A dedicated teacher, successful in growing the player base of the Knoxville Bridge Center*, Ricker is now a director, a club owner, a teacher and bridge book author.

150+ students submitted testimonials in support of his nomination this year, many of which attested to his patience, humor, and clarity as an instructor.*

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Teacher of the Year Award, sponsored by Master Point Press. It recognizes excellence in bridge teaching, with teacher nominations submitted from all over North America.
