2016 Washington, D.C. ABTA First and Second Time Attendees Brunch

The primary purpose of the ABTA brunch is to provide a smaller group function which allows the new convention attendees to get acquainted with the officers and directors of ABTA as well as to meet other individuals who are new to the convention. We hope this makes the convention and its other functions more enjoyable for you as you will now know a few other people even before we get started.

This year the brunch will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19 at Petits Plats Restaurant. This French and American restaurant is just around the corner from the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, quite literally as it is only one tenth of a mile away! The address is 2653 Connecticut Ave. NW and their phone number is 202-518-0018 if you get lost and need directions. In fact if you go out the older section of the hotel which opens onto Connecticut Avenue, all you have to do is cross the street! You can always call Kathy Rolfe (your ABTA Business Secretary-Treasurer) at 816-237-0519 if you need help finding it or if you have other questions about it. Some of our officers and directors can lead you there from the Marriott if you will meet at the concierge desk by 11:15 a.m. or you can just meet us at the restaurant.

This year’s brunch will consist of 2 courses. The first course will be a choice of Mesclun Mixed Green Salad, Soup of the Day, or Beet and Goat Cheese Terrine. The second course will be a choice of a Full breakfast (2 eggs, bacon, sausage, roasted potatoes, toast), Ham and Cheese Quiche, with Potatoes and a small salad, Spinach Quiche with Potatoes and a small salad, Omelet (vegetables, ham and cheese or bacon and potato) with a salad, or Brioche French toast with fresh fruits and whipped cream. You don’t have to decide now! You will be presented with the menu when you are seated and can order then.

The cost for the brunch is $30 each and you will be asked to pre-register and pay on the convention registration form which will be in the spring Quarterly and available on the website soon. Only those who have pre-registered by July 17th will be able to attend.
